Economy Plus is offered on this aircraft type. Economy Plus is not a separate class of service but is standard economy with up to 3 inches of extra legroom. 7A should be a "mixed review" rather than a "good" seat. If there's a passenger in 7B, all is well. But if 7B is empty, it becomes the staging area for people waiting to use the forward lavatory. And 7B should always be the last premium economy seat to fill. If you get that seat, that "extra legroom" you pay extra for is actually in the aisle. When the aisle is in use, legroom is no better than regular economy. So 7B is often open. And because passengers aren't allowed to congregate near the cockpit door, when the lavatory is occupied the the flight attendants direct people who want to use it to that seat. As a result, while I was trying to catch up on a little sleep, people were sitting down in and getting up from the adjacent seat every few minutes.

7c is a great location with extra legroom and seat in front you can store items under. But all the coach seats on this plane are a "thin" design that feels like sitting on a wooden bleacher seat. The longer the flight, the more you will suffer.

This seat had one window, plenty of legroom and under seat space based on how the seat in front is built. It is better than most narrow body commercial planes. It had smaller overhead bins, but wider seats which were nice. The seat is a little hard, but was not bad for a three hour flight. I would prefer this plane to a domestic 737 or 757 any time.

Pro= nobody reclining into your lap, Con=Less leg room because of bulkhead. Con= left side and ALOT less overhead storage and no underseat in 1A.

Took this flight from ORF to EWR (short flight) and it was very comfortable. We were in regular economy. I have lower back problems and these "newer" "slimline" seats are surprisingly comfortable; I didn't even feel the need to recline my seat to get comfortable. I didn't nap so I don't know what it's like for that but you would definitely need a neck pillow to get a little shut-eye. I'm 5'10" and the leg room was good as well. I probably had 3 inches between my knee and the seat in front. There's a movable center arm rest. This seat is in between windows. I'm very picky as I fly a lot and used to work for an airline. This was a very comfortable flight.

This plane has lots of good reviews for its first class seats (4th row not quite as good). Seat 1A on the EMB-175 is my most favorite seat in any of United's narrow-body planes (excluding the 757 which has flatbed seats). I have neck problems, and, unlike a previous reviewer, I did not have any problem looking out of its window.

This is the best seat on this plane. It has the most legroom I've ever seen on a domestic flight. I'm 6' tall and there was still a good 2 feet of space between my knee and the seat in front, which was more than you get in first class. Plus you can store a bag under the seat in front of you, since there is only a cloth divider.

1A / 1C / 1D. Window is severely offset. There is a "missing" window and the one window in that row is parallel with the setback, so it is very difficult to look out the window from Row 1 (neck ache time!)

Brand new plane. Seats are wide, Economy Plus appeared to have more legroom than the 34" advertised. You would think the plane would be ideal, however the seats have virtually no padding, and the headrests end way too low. I am 6' tall and the seatback came to the top of my neck.

Window was offset enough to have to lean back to look out. Leg room was good, even with a bag on the floor in front of me. Decent room for wide shoulders even with the bulkhead. Was on this aircraft for a total of 4+ hours due to ground delays and I found it to be comfortable.

Love this jet. Wide seats, good legroom, big windows. The windows for row 12 are listed as "misaligned" but they are really nonexistent. The space next to your seat is a wide blank wall and the windows I would more attribute to the rows in front and behind you.

Generally good seat. Decent legroom and pitch, but the padding is definitely firm and thin. Good window position if you like to watch the wing movement. Most economy rows ahead have partially-obstructed windows.

It's certainly worth upgrading if you can. The seats in economy look very narrow. Seat 3D was comfortable and wide and I appreciated the fresh fruit, snacks and alcohol on offer.

The seat wasn't bad - there was adequate legroom. The problem was that there was a blast of cold - no, frigid - air coming from the side panel. Not the controllable air nozzle embedded in the light panel - the non-controllable side of the airplane. I would strongly recommend that if you take this seat, wear an arctic parka. Also a knit watch cap. And bring a blanket, too. The FA was clueless about what could be done about it (nothing). Other passengers were fine. It took me an hour to thaw out after landing.

Been on this aircraft several times and it is the least comfortable on any plane I've been on. There is no padding on the back which makes for a miserable flight of over a couple of hours. I avoid this plane on United flights if at all possible.

Wide comfortable seats will plenty of leg room and lots of underseat storage room. Right hand side of the plane can easily fit standard rolley bags, including larger ones, at least in First Class. My bag is on the big side and normally needs to be put in sideways on the smaller regional planes. The bins in First Class on the right side are deep - deep enough to fit my bag wheels in!

This was the first time being on this plane and i loved it!! flew from ATL-IAH. with how wide the seats were, they were super comfortable. plenty of legroom and back support. Just watch your head when you stand up...with how comfortable you are, you'll forget youre on a express jet!!

I flew in this seat with a lap child. It was comfortable with plenty of room. Yes the tray tables are in the armrests, but there is a cupholder that can be extended without opening the traytable. The pocket in front was big enough for a water bottle. We didn't have a problem getting bumped by other passengers while boarding and there was plenty of legroom.

I had an E175 operated by Mesa for a morning flight IND-IAD. Contrary to many other reviewers, the seats did recline. It was the type of recline where the seat base moves forward a bit when you do so, and the seat doesn't recline much, but it definitely has recline. There is no bar between the window and aisle seats, so you get a bit more footroom if you also have a bag under your seat. And yes, these seats have very little cushioning. They put the safety card and magazines in the back of the headrest, so the headrest is as hard as a rock. I would be willing to trade a half inch or more of legroom to get a thicker cushion. Delta and American Eagle E175s have much more comfortable seats. This 90 minute flight was much less comfortable than the 2.5 hours I spent in a Delta E170 last month. But at least you're not in a CRJ700. Also, all United E175s have wifi, which this page does not show.

Seat is comfortable enough. It is a small aircraft so it has limited luxuries, but for a 3 ish hour flight it was fine. Crew was pleasant, food was aight'. WiFi entertainment to personal device worked well. Plenty to choose from.

The seat was actually really comfortable. The legroom was more than adequate unless you are more than 6 foot 5. It doesn't recline much however, but that is understandable for a short haul flight. Flight was pretty good and smooth even during rough weather. I would definitely go out of my way to fly this plane compared to other regional jets that fly for United Airlines.

Great seat. Yes, it's also an Aisle, but being after row 1, the luggage bashing is lower. On the other hand, the First seats in the ERJ are decent sized, but since you have nobody next to you, it's very comfortable. Under seat storage is good also (i have a big laptop bag) and the seat power works perfectly.

Seat has power! Socket is a bit worn so it takes some doing but it does work. Bring a small backpack or tin, like 13" rolling bag as bins are (surprise!) regional jet sized.

While the padding on the seat is thin and can make for an uncomfortable flight, it is the hard plastic seat in front of you and makes the seat nearly unbearable for longer flights, in our case 3+ hours. Leg space is good (6'2"), and overhead bin space is plentiful. However, trying to get comfortable after the first 30 minutes is impossible.

very unusual seat. the aisle turns here giving the seat a uniquely unobstructed view of first class and cockpit. some might like, others won't like getting bumped into and feeling like you are sitting in the middle of the first class aisle.

This seat has more legroom than First Class. Flew this from IAD-PIT and loved the plane. If it were a longer flight, I'd probably bring a bit of padding as the seat started to get uncomfortable by the end, but the plane is still worth it.

This seat offers a decent amount of legroom, but the padding on the seat is too little for comfort. The aircraft is relatively new, with overhead bins that are larger than other regional jets, like the CRJ.

Lots of good things about the E-175. Great headroom and the carryon bins are very large for a regional jet. Restroom is descent size as well. 2-2 seating is nice and the seat width is more than many "big" jets. I am 6-3, and even at 31" pitch there is ample knee room and foot room under the seat ahead. One catch, to provide that much space the seat back is very thin and hard as a rock. My flight from ORD to DFW was over two hours and late in the evening. I wanted to sleep but could not get comfortable. Seemed like I was in a plastic chair in the departure lounge. All-in-all it is a nice aircraft and excellent for a regional, but I'd wished I'd brought a piece of foam with me.

6' tall 215# with long torso. The seats in this plane are excruciating! It appears United has locked the seatbacks on all economy class seat. Mine did not work and I did not observe anyone moving theirs to an upright position for landing. I'll avoid this aircraft whenever possible.

I sat in seat 11D on an approximately 1 hour flight from PSP to SFO. While the legroom for these seats in incredible (due to the lack of seatback entertainment), this seat was still very uncomfortable. The seatback cushions on this aircraft are almost paper-thin, and by the end of the flight, my back was really hurting. While the amount of legroom and cabin space is great compared to other regional jets, I would avoid this plane on flights longer than an hour and a half.

Seat is very comfortable. Passengers do NOT bump into this seat, however, the "divider" between First and Economy is a mesh screen that only comes past the headrest which provides no privacy or noise reduction.

1 hour flight from SAT to IAH. Brand new aircraft. Light and open feeling. No step up to seats like in other regional jets. Seats had no feeling of being narrow and leg room was great. Easy exit from the plane. Galley and crew rest area bothers were not a concern due to the duration of the flight. Used gate at terminal for larger jets and not the regional terminal. Only drawback was only full sized overhead storage is above the two seat side of the aircraft.

Plenty of legroom in Economy Plus. I flew a United Express flight operated by SkyWest RDU-DEN, and found the new Slimline seats to be less comfortable than the Slimline seats on regular United jets. There is much less cushioning in the seat back. It is fine for a short hop, but a bit rough for the 3+ hour trip from Raleigh to Denver. On the flip side, the 18" width of the seats on this plane is an improvement on the seats on most larger jets. Overhead bins in economy can handle full-sized roll-aboard bags but only sideways, so if the plane is full, some folks may still have to gate check bags.

This seat felt so flimsy and squeaked so much I thought it was going to fall apart mid-flight...not to mention it was rather uncomfortable. The window at this row (and most rows in the back of the plane) is misaligned with the seat, so you have to lean way forward to look out. For being a new aircraft in United's fleet, it certainly is nothing special.

Flight was originally supposed to be operated by an E170 but got switched the the E7W at the last minute due to some weather issues the prior day. Seat 7C probably featured more leg room than that of first class. With my feet fully stretched I was barely able to touch the seat in front of me (I'm 5'10"). The first class "Curtain" is really just a small drape that hangs in front of you and extends down just about 6 inches below the overhead. It almost doesn't even pay to have this "curtain" as it really serves no purpose at all. The 2x2 configuration is really nice and the seats are a lot wider than most other planes. My only downside is that the overhead space on the plane is pretty limited as the bins are smaller and not as deep as mainline equipment so you still have plenty of gate checks taking place.

There is no under seat storage for this seat. Because this seat protrudes into a bend in the aisle, it can be annoying (hit by rollaboards and service carts)

7B is a great seat. The E+ seat has an incredibly generous amount of leg room so much so, that you need to stretch your foot to touch the seat in front of you. The only drawback of the seat is that to seats from First Class shifts and the isle shifts in from of 7B, so during boarding you will constantly be bumped by those passing. Even during the drink service the FAs will bump you. The window at row 7 is aligned perfectly to allow the B seat (isle seat) to get a good view out.
