TACA Baggage

Carry-On Allowance : 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item

On all TACA flights, each passenger is allowed one (1) carry-on bag and one (1) personal item. The carry-on hand luggage must not weigh more than 22 pounds (10 kilos) and the external dimensions (H+L+W) must not exceed 115 centimeters (45 inches). The personal item includes one of the following: ladies purse, blanket, walking cane, camera, binoculars, photo equipment, video/laptop computer, items consumed by infants during the flight, baby cot, or wheelchair/crutches/prostheses. All hand luggage must fit in the overhead compartments or under the seat in front of the passenger

*Note: TACA personnel have the ability to further limit this allowance in the cabin provided available space in the aircraft.

Checked Baggage

Free baggage allowance for flights within Peru:

  • Business Class: 2 pieces of luggage with a maximum combined weight of 70 lbs (32 kg) and total dimensions not exceeding 158 cm (62 in)
  • Economy Class: 2 pieces of luggage with a maximum combined weight of 50 lbs (23 kg) and total dimensions not exceeding 158 cm (62 in)

Free baggage allowance on international flights to/from the USA, Mexico, Canada, and Spain:

  • Business Class- 2 pieces of luggage with a maximum combined weight of 70 lbs (32 kg) and total dimensions not exceeding 158 cm (62 in)
  • Economy Class- 2 pieces of luggage with a maximum combined weight of 50 lbs (23 kg) and total dimensions not exceeding 158 cm (62 in)

Free baggage allowance on international flights to/from Latin America:

  • Business Class- 2 pieces of luggage with a maximum combined weight of 70 lbs (32 kg) and total dimensions not exceeding 158 cm (62 in)
  • Economy Class- 2 pieces of luggage with a maximum combined weight of 70 lbs (32 kg) and total dimensions not exceeding 158 cm (62 in)

Size Requirements:

All bags must adhere to the size and weight requirements unless otherwise noted:

  • Maximum Dimensions: 158 cm/ 62 inches (length+width:height)
  • Maximum Weight: 70 lb/ 32 kg

Overweight Baggage Fees

On flights within Peru, a maximum excess weight of 45 kilograms is allowed. The overweight baggage will be charged at a rate of USD $2.25 per additional kilo.

On international flights to/from USA, Canada, and Mexico, any bag between 50 pounds (23 kilos) and 70 pounds (32 kilos) is considered overweight baggage. A fee of USD $55 will be charged for each piece.

On international flights within Latin America the following fees will apply:

  • Baggage between 70 pounds (32 kilos) and 100 pounds (45 kilos) will be charged USD $55 per bag
  • Baggage between 100 pounds (45 kilos) and 130 pounds (60 kilos) will be charged USD $110 per bag
  • Baggage between 130 pounds (60 kilos) and 160 pounds (75 kilos) will be charged USD $165 per bag
  • Baggage between 160 pounds (75 kilos) and 200 pounds (90 kilos) will be charged USD $220 per bag

*Note: For all regions, no baggage over 101 pounds (46 kilos) or whose external dimensions exceed 215 centimeters (85 inches) will be accepted as checked baggage.

Oversize Baggage Fees

For flights within Peru, any oversize baggage whose dimensions are between 158 centimeters (62 inches) and 230 centimeters (90.5 inches) will be charged USD $50 per bag.

On international flights to/from USA, Canada, and Mexico, any oversize baggage whose dimensions are between 158 centimeters (62 inches) and 215 centimeters (85 inches) will be charged USD $100 per bag.

On international flights within Latin America, any oversize baggage whose dimensions are between 158 centimeters (62 inches) and 215 centimeters (85 inches) will be charged USD $100 per bag.

Excess Baggage Fees

For flights within Peru, the following charges apply for extra baggage:

An additional piece weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds (23 kilos) and with dimensions up to 150 centimeters (62 inches) will be charged at a rate of USD $40 per piece.

An additional piece weighing between 50 pounds (23 kilos) and 100 pounds (45 kilos) and with dimensions up to 230 centimeters (90.5 inches) will be charged at a rate of USD $70 per piece.

On international flights to/from USA, Canada, and Mexico, the following charges apply for extra baggage:

An additional piece weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds (23 kilos) and with dimensions up to 158 centimeters (62 inches) will be charged at a rate of USD $125 for the first piece, and USD $200 for the second piece and any additional pieces.

An additional piece weighing between 50 pounds (23 kilos) and 70 pounds (32 kilos) and with dimensions up to 158 centimeters (62 inches) will be charged at a rate of USD $150 for the first piece, and USD $200 for the second piece and any additional pieces.

An additional piece weighing between 70 pounds (32 kilos) and 100 pounds (45 kilos) and with dimensions up to 215 centimeters (85 inches) will be charged at a rate of USD $175 for the first piece, and USD $225 for the second piece and any additional pieces.

On international flights within Latin America, the following charges apply for extra baggage:

An additional piece weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds (23 kilos) and with dimensions up to 158 centimeters (62 inches) will be charged at a rate of USD $125 per piece.

An additional piece weighing between 50 pounds (23 kilos) and 70 pounds (32 kilos) and with dimensions up to 158 centimeters (62 inches) will be charged at a rate of USD $150 per piece.

An additional piece weighing between 70 pounds (32 kilos) and 100 pounds (45 kilos) and with dimensions up to 230 centimeters (90.5 inches) will be charged at a rate of USD $175 per piece.

Sports Equipment

The following items are considered as baggage provided they meet the set weight and size requirements: golf equipment, fishing equipment, diving equipment, bicycles, archery equipment, bowling equipment, kitesurfing equipment, skiing equipment, surf equipment, and hand gliding equipment.

The following items will incur additional charges on international flights: surf boards, kitesurfing equipment, and hang gliders.
